When I, as a physician, treat a patient I feel it is very important to treat the whole person, and not just the ailment. If a patient presents with diabetes, I feel it is important that I am treating a "patient" with diabetes and not just treating the diagnosis of diabetes. Everyone is unique in their own way and must be treated accordingly. I try to promote and encourage self reliance in patients with both acute and chronic disease states such that they may be able to augment the therapeutics they receive from my office.
